the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the site comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret’s Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich (in which the Royal Observatory, Greenwich marks the Prime Meridian, 0° longitude, and GMT).
London, also known as Greater London, is one of nine regions of England and the top subdivision covering most of the city’s metropolis. The City of London at its core once comprised the whole settlement, but as its urban area grew, the Corporation of London resisted attempts to amalgamate the City with its suburbs, causing ‘London’ to be defined several ways.
Urban design deals with the larger scale of groups of infrastructure & public spaces with the goal of making urban environments that are equitable, performative, and sustainable.
