Wonderful and precious silks: Sahco. The Hesslein family, traders in fabrics from the 17th century in Germany, founded the S. A. Hesslein Co. (SAHCO) in 1840, selling precious silks imported by coach from Paris and Lyon.

Their credo:

Sahco only produce a fabric when they can be sure that it carries a unique trade mark and lives up to the high expectations in look and feel of a sophisticated textile buyer.
If you feel the silk and other textiles, Sahco uses for their products, you’ll never want someting else.

We’ve been at their manufactury in Italy, where they showed a variety of beautifully handcrafted materials with luxurious ornaments and reduced graphic elements.

Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of both the design object and design process. It may involve considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design.
