Photography is the art, science & practice of creating durable images by recording light. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure.
The daily newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya, which appears in Barcelona, determined with own searches, where the photo was shot: before the gates of a small, Andalusian town with the beautiful name Espejo in the spanish province Córdoba.
However this “piece” of news, which the paper El Periódico set this week as world sensation, goes back to José Manuel Susperregui, a Spanish university graduate, who published Espejo in this summer as a book “Sombras de la fotografía” (Shade of the photography) called.
El Periódico de Catalunya says this could be demonstrated by an alignment of these and similar Capa photos with current landscape photographs from the area around Espejo.
They also say they “proved” that the frequently doubted Capas photography was shot in Cerro Muriano, which is 50 kilometers away from Espejo.
On the other hand they let the doubts about the authenticity of the picture grow without a real proven point.
