Rado launched the D-Star (Dive Star) collection to pay homage to its designs from the 1960s, resulting in retro silhouettes that appeal to modern collectors. For what they are, they impressively hit the mark in terms of price, size and looks. The 44mm polished case couldn’t be shaped any more perfectly, with its hooded lugs lending the case that slight cushion shape that tastefully walks the line between contemporary and full-on retro. The convex bezel does the same thing, being thin like a vintage diver while simultaneously being constructed of high-tech ceramic making it scratch-proof.

Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of both the design object and design process. It may involve considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design.
