Born in Hampstead, London, Marianne Faithfull began her career in 1964 after attending The Rolling Stones party where she was discovered by Andrew Loog Oldham. After the release of her hit single 'As Tears Go By' and her debut album Marianne Faithfull (1965) (released simultaneously with her album Come My Way), she became an international star.


Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. Music can be divided into genres and genres can be further divided into subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to personal interpretation, and occasionally controversial.
