Every day thousands of images compete for our attention and it is the difficult job of an illustrator/designer to stand out and communicate from this staccato background.
The fact that most of this images are photographs, TV-lensed images, can work delightful to the advantage of an illustrator because a drawing or digital panting can show something somehow different, a more personal view of the world out there in the viewers eye. That is what i try to do with my work. To present an alternative, sometimes somehow idealised, more down to earth, admittedly filled with beautiful people and (hopefully) great design, but inspired by the things I see and experience.
An illustrator is a graphic artist who specializes in enhancing written text by providing a visual representation that corresponds to the content of the associated text. The illustration may be intended to clarify complicated concepts or objects that are difficult to describe textually, or the illustration may be intended for entertainment, as in greeting cards, or cover art or interior art for books and magazines, or for advertisement, as on posters.
Designer is a broad term for a person who designs any of a variety of things. That usually implies the task of creating or of being creative in a particular area of expertise. It is frequently used to reference someone who draws or in some ways uses visual cues to organize their work. Designers are usually responsible for making a model that takes into consideration each step in a product’s development, including not only how a product will be used but also how it will be made.
Digital photography, as opposed to film photography, uses electronic devices to record the image as binary data. This facilitates storage and editing of the images on personal computers, and also the ability to show and delete unsuccessful images immediately on the camera itself.
