The PK0 A by Poul Kjærholm was originally designed in 1952 at the beginning of the Danish designer’s tenure at Fritz Hansen.

The ribbon-like shape of the chair pushed the wood bending techniques of the time to their limits and challenged conventional chair shapes. The sculptural design is updated in Oregon pine or black-stained ash and features vermilion fixtures to contrast the wood.

Beautiful from every angle, the PK0 is a profile of Kjærholm’s visionary approach, which sits at the intersection of art and design.

Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of the design object & design process.
