Ferrari S.p.A. is a sports car manufacturer based in Maranello. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939 as Auto Avio Costruzioni, the company built its first car in 1940, the company's inception as an auto manufacturer is recognized in 1947 when the first Ferrari-badged car was completed.
Enzo Anselmo Ferrari, Cavaliere di Gran Croce OMRI was an motor racing driver and entrepreneur, the founder of the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team, and subsequently of the Ferrari automobile marque. He was widely known as il Commendatore. In his final years he was often referred to as l’Ingegnere or il Grande Vecchio.
