The Django (1966) film spawned hundreds of unofficial sequels. Some incorrectly and unauthorized had Django in the title, so as to cash in on the original. The film was so popular in Germany that almost every Franco Nero western there, bears the Django name.

The inspiration for Quentin Tarantino’s film Django Unchained (2012), although it is not a remake of this film, despite the theme song being used in the opening credits and Franco Nero making a cameo opposite Jamie Foxx’s Django.
