By 1992 the entry was left in a relatively low number of participants with only 49 cars on track. Among them, the Nissan number 23 of the NISMO team, the official structure of the brand. The new model was not yet ready so its pilots took control of the well-known R91CP with Le Mans specification (equal to that of the Japanese prototype championship). The Japanese car Nissan R91CP with the mythical number 23 joined the two R90CKs and the R91CK from Nova Engineering.
