The Blade runner film, written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples, is a loose adaptation of the 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. The film depicts a dystopian Los Angeles of 2019 in which genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans, are manufactured by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on off-world colonies.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched c-beams ... glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate.
All those ... moments will be lost ... in time,
like tears ... in rain.
Time ... to die.
2019 marked the death of Eldon Tyrell, the genius behind the Tyrell Corporation, and Rick Deckard's hunt for fugitive Nexus-6 replicants led by Roy Batty and his flight from Los Angeles with prototype Nexus-7 Rachael.
