The Blade runner film, written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples, is a loose adaptation of the 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. The film depicts a dystopian Los Angeles of 2019 in which genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans, are manufactured by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on off-world colonies.
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched c-beams … glitter in the dark near Tanhauser Gate.
All those … moments will be lost … in time,
like tears … in rain.
Time … to die.
2019 marked the death of Eldon Tyrell, the genius behind the Tyrell Corporation, and Rick Deckard’s hunt for fugitive Nexus-6 replicants led by Roy Batty and his flight from Los Angeles with prototype Nexus-7 Rachael.
