The Corvair spawned a number of innovative concept vehicles including the Corvair SS, Monza GT, Monza SS, Astro I. In Europe, Italian coachbuilder Bertone designed a very advanced one-off prototype for the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, The Corvair Testudo. This was among the first designs of Giorgetto Giugiaro, the chief designer at Bertone at the time. Also Carrozzeria Pininfarina worked on a Corvair Speciale.
