The BlogTimes WordPress theme is based on the NewYorker theme, which was featured at the fairly popular Mashable.
While the NewYorker theme was inspired by the classy look of the NewYorker Online magazine, BlogTimes is inspired by the NewYork Times. Too much? Well, I don’t think so, as BT is fully featured and FREE.
Who said premium?
The BlogTimes WordPress theme is enabled for multi authors, each author has its own page and RSS Feed, also the frontpage login is enabled.
BlogTimes 3.17 WordPress Theme consists of a fluid four column outfit featuring a newspaper style, featuring three widgetized sidebars as well as the footer (five columns) with typical WordPress action like calendar, built in are recent comments, related post, utw as well as the native WP tag system, flickr support is featured too in its own bar.

The frontpage shows the latest post asigned by your desired categories. Additional two columns shows excerpts, while the middle sidebar shows another row of posts.
