Now we have evidence of the influence of (business) blogs and their responsibility as a news source: two days ago Engadget had a news breaking story for the delay of the new I-Phone on its tablet.
What looked like a scoop turned out to be a hoax. Now Techcrunch as well as Engadget itself reported the story to be a desinformation.
However many investors had lost huge amounts of money (Four billion dollars) in a short time. This socalled Applegate (bloggate?) reveals that influential blogs today have greater responsibilty towards their readers than in the past. A bogus story can significantly damage your credibility.
