Slick green layout styled as an online magazine, in my approach to create new outfits for the frontpage of a WordPress powered site: Nature 3.17 WordPress Theme with a fixed two column outfit.
Widgetized sidebar with typical WP action like calendar, built in are recent comments and related post in the themes functions php.
The frontpage shows the four latest posts asigned by the theme option page. Plenty of place for welcome or description text is onboard too in its own columns fixed with another option template, see the demo.
