While I really like reading news and new techniques online, and spending approximately 60 minutes a day to read with learning about new things at popurls, originalsignal and my feedreader,
I am sometimes annoyed by the same news every day, say espacially like the linkbaiting of smashing magazine (no link!), yesterday they were featured again at the frontpage of popurls and os with a sinple post about ten favicons: what a crap. 
Sometimes the same story even appears after a few months again, not a duplicate by someone, but bookmarked again by some Einstein, and a gazillion of other Einsteins follow them.
Rant? Maybe, but this is one of the reasons why I am now a more selective reader: ample sanity and kottke are featuring even better stories than the whole bookmark-me-social-club.
