Corporate styles with black and red layout styled, in my approach to create new outfits for the frontpage of a WordPress powered site: No Way Out WordPress Theme with a fixed two column outfit.
Widgetized sidebar with typical WP action like calendar, built in are recent comments and related post in the themes functions php, second sidebar shows excerpts of the latest five posts.

The frontpage shows the four latest posts asigned by a built in theme options panel. Plenty of place for welcome or description text is onboard too at the frontpage slider controlled via the options table, but see the Demo.
