My pictures are mostly like jackets for stories I haven’t written and would never write because they are not stories that can be covered in words. When a picture tells a story as a picture, it’s self-sufficient. When it tries to capture a text, it become a hostile. I’ll try to illustrate and marry a picture to words and hope it’ll be a successful marriage. I’ve always found inspiration in the work of artists who are able to abandon their academic education and to take themsselves out of drawing. They force naivety back into their artwork, but they do so with an understanding of why things.Though the drawings of these artists are naive, the sense of design, colour, compostion and concept are still applied masterfully.
